  1. From Mr. Krancus:
Episode: Tea, Taxes, & the American Revolution.
Summary: About the events that led to the revolution, and how the revolution wasn't really all that "revolutionary".
Interesting fact: Only ~15% of people had full rights under the new US constitution! That's not treating "all men as created equal"!
Question: What good did dumping a boat-load of tea into Boston Harbor do for the colonists?

  2. I watched the World War II video. World War II was one of the most violent wars ever! One of the reasons that it started was because japen invaded china then that started a huge conflict with them, Germany somehow got involved and the war had started. The Nazi killed about 5 million people with about three quarters of it innocent people. Japan then bombed Pearl Harbor and Australia, that made them two get involved. Germeny wanted to get land for more crops to get more food, that's what stated the war. Finally Hitler commited sucide and the war was over. This happened mostly because the US got involved, but to repay Japan, they bombed them back. That was the end of World War II. I have the question, why didn't the us get involved before japen bombed them?

  3. Episode:The Crash Course History video that I watched was the one about World War 2.
Summary: It was about how Hitler and the German military tried to expand their territory and about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the many other countries that were fighting in this war, hence the ''world'' part of its name.
Interesting Fact: Canada actually lost more people in this war than America did.
Question: I think there are two questions. 1. When exactly did this war start? 2. Was it really all about the allies who fought together? (this is mentioned in the video a lot).

  5. i watched the episode about capitalism and socialism. i learned that in England, the rich people and monarchs could take away the farmers land, which led many people to experiencing poverty. before these events, farming was prosperous and many people benefited by being able to afford the cheap food (even though the peoples massive food consumption led o severe obesity.

  8. Episode: The Atlantic Slave Trade
Summary: The Africans were kidnapped by other Africans and taken on a ship to either the U.S. or Brazil or The Caribbean's. Slaves were mostly used to farm sugar and tobacco (Agricultural Labor). A Slave's average lifetime was 23 years old.Slavery was so bad that it was dehumanizing the Slaves. Most people had reasons that slavery was okay, but it is at the top of the list for one of the things NOT okay.

  9. Episode: Ancient Egypt

Summary: Ancient Egypt's survival was based off of the Nile river. The Nile was used to grow crops and to get resources. Have you ever wondered why the pyramids were built? Well, the pyramids were built in the 1st section of Ancient Egypt's history (2649-2152 BC) to please the gods and have a better afterlife. The Egyptians also had lots of time on their hands because the Nile was such a calm river and did not require complicated irrigation.

Interesting Fact: Ancient Egypt has lasted a thousand years longer than Christianity has been around.

Question: Why is King Tut the only famous pharaoh?

  10. Episode: Latin American Revolutions

Summary: By the 19th century, Latin America has been ruled by Spanish and Portuguese (if you lived in Brazil) rule. However, by that time, the many diverse racial groups started to share a "patriotic", South American feeling, and started many "revolutions" seeking for independence. That's when leaders like Simón Bolívar made history. However, although many countries managed to achieve a sovereign status, these "revolutions" aren't considered that "revolutionary" as they were before. Some reasons are: the bloody wars for independence in many colonies; the untouched presence of the so criticized patriarchy; the also untouched power of the Catholic Church in many societies; etc.

Interesting fact: Brazil was probably the only country where there wasn't a giant bloodshed during the process of independence. The process was also done by a prince (Prince Pedro I).

Question: What probably crushed Bolívar's dream of an united South America?

  11. Episode: Greeks and Persians

Summary: This video was about the war between the Greeks and the Persians and how even though Greeks (Athens not Sparta) introduced democracy(Sparta hated democracy) to the world (but still had slaves and woman could not vote and when a small Island refused to join Athens in the war they killed all the men and enslaved the woman and children so it was a really crappy democracy) the Persians were a whole lot better, (slavery was forbidden, they all embraced freedom of religion and the Persians had a much more stable empires than the Greeks.) Basically the world would have been better off if the Persians had one.

Interesting fact: When the Persian king conquered other kingdoms he would allow the kings to say kings if they paid a small tax and pledged allegiance to him. He was know as "the king of kings".

Question: when did the war start.

  12. Episode: Ancient Egypt

Summary: The Nile basically shaped the people's lives, since they benefited from it so much. It flooded a lot, bringing valuable silt, and was very calm, so it didn't need a lot of attention or restriction. The Egyptians were very rich from it. Also, their slaves built pyramids to honor their gods and to shoot for a better afterlife. But, Egypt had a bit of a falling out when the rulers fought over power, so they founded the New Kingdom with a new god they believed was all-powerful.

Interesting Fact: Ancient Egypt has been around about 1000 years than Christianity has existed.

Question: If King Tut basically didn't do anything, why is finding so much of his treasure in his tomb make him so much more well-known than the pharaohs that actually accomplished things?

Interesting fact: Argentina supplied meat for people in the war in 1942.

  14. Episode:
    World War 2

Summary: World War 2 started in September of 1999 when the Nazi's invaded Poland. However, the start can be traced all the way back to when Japan invaded China. The European war was started by Hitler and the Nazi. They invaded Poland, Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, and France in 9 months, from the fall of 1939 to the summer of 1940. In 1941, they then proceeded to bomb Russia. the next big event happened later in 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. After that, Stalingrad got bombed by the Germans. In response, the Russians "hugged" them hoping they would leave them alone. In the end, Hitler committed suicide, but more that 6 million Jews where killed.

Interesting fact: More than a million Vietnamese died, 418,000 Americans died, more than a million Germans and Japaneses died, and more that 20 million Soviet Union citizens died, most of them civilians.

Question:What feud started the whole thing?

  15. Episode: Greeks and Persians

Summary: Persia was a great place to live in 5th century BCE. They embraced freedom of religion and had no slavery, while Greece gave us literature and music but citizenship was limited and males were dominant. This is where the Greek vs. Persian War comes in. It all happened because Athens supported Ionian Greeks when they were rebelling in Anatolia against Persians. The outcome is that the Greeks won the war which resulted later in the Peloponnesus war between Athens and Sparta. Athenians sailed to Spartan island Melos where they killed all men and enslaved woman and children, but the Spartans won anyway.

Interesting Fact: The Persian acclimated dynasty led King Cyrus The Great to conquer most of Mesopotamia

Question: Was it a good or bad thing that the Greeks won the war?
